The Salone has embraced a bold proposal, blending scientific research methods with the visual communication language, building an imaginary for the first time that is data-driven, visually abstract, and simultaneously concrete in synthesizing and making available the key elements of the collective discourse on design.' – Paolo Ciuccarelli, Professor of Design and founder of the DensityDesign Lab, Milan Polytechnic
Opening Tuesday, 16 April, hundreds of exhibitions, talks and installations across the city’s design centre and industrial fringes will reveal exciting new releases and design concepts. Working with Paolo Ciuccarelli, Professor of Design and founder of the DensityDesign Lab at Milan Polytechnic University and the Center for Design at Northeastern University in Boston, the Salone will launch a major artwork developed from the identity, themes and conversations that animated the design community from the Salone's 2023 edition until today, creating an original artwork powered by AI that promises to evolve into an ongoing repository of experiences ignited by the event. We all know how huge the Salone has become, and how humanly impossible it is to see everything, so we are excited to see how AI might further enrich the design experience!
This year's event is shaping up to be an exciting week filled with colour, installations, new products, events, and of course Campari! With the theme 'Where Design Evolves', the 62nd anniversary of the Salone de Mobile will commemorate EuroCucina, the Year of the Kitchen, and launch the Salone's first AI-generated data-driven visual narrative.
