Located in inner-city Brisbane, the project involved alterations and additions to an existing worker’s cottage by Craig Channon Architects, and the selection of key pieces of furniture from the B&B Italia collection.
A run-down cottage has been transformed into a contemporary residence for a client who wanted the house to take full advantage of the site’s ideal northern aspect. The close collaboration between architect and builder has produced a clearly articulated interior that is light and open to the site, and features a new, elevated outdoor room with sweeping views across Newstead and Teneriffe.
Highlighting the building's contemporary transformation are furniture pieces from the B&B Italia range, including the Naviglio sofa by Yabu Pushelberg and the Husk armchair by Patricia Urquiola; the Oskar table by Vincent van Duysen with Jens armchairs by Antonio Citterio; with the Tobi-ishi table by Barber Osgerby and the Canasta and Bay collections by Patricia Urquiola featuring outdoors.
