A striking waterfront block in Broadbeach Waters, the owner of Barbarae Park approached DM2Architects in Brisbane to design a residence that worked in harmony with the incredible surroundings.
“To form a connection with the water views, we identified several key sightlines to inform the vantage points created throughout the home and made them an integral part of the entry sequence,” says lead Architect Terry Bell.
“We designed the building to have two sections connected using a central link, allowing us to create a separate music retreat for the client. The central link acts as both an adjustable privacy screen and also as a main entertainment space that engages with a series of terraces leading down to the water,” he says.
Built around a music pavilion, library and pool, the design dovetails with the owner’s key passions. Putting music, literature and food at its heart, this creative home has been brought to life a sophisticated entertaining space that’s perfect for sharing.
The vision for the home started when the client decided to knock down his gaudy canal home and replace it with a sophisticated, waterfront oasis.
Designed by DM2Architects in Brisbane, the stunning canal site takes in enviable coast views up to the glittering Broadbeach skyline and down to Surfers Paradise.
A design lover and home owner – who takes a practical yet modern approach - the interior centres the design around a library in which and the open courtyard. Just add music to this once in a life time home built from the heart.
